    Noviqen Editorial Policy

This page explains how Noviqen researches, writes, checks and maintains its articles, and how sponsored and affiliate content is handled. It applies to all content published on noviqen.co.uk.

    How articles are researched

Each article begins with a clearly defined question or topic relevant to UK personal finance. Before writing, we gather background information from primary and authoritative sources, note the dates of key figures, and identify what is established fact versus forecast or opinion.

Writers draft in plain British English, defining technical terms where they appear. We aim to distinguish between what is known, what is expected, and what is uncertain, and to state the limits of our analysis rather than overstate conclusions.

Where a topic requires specialist expertise we do not hold, we say so and direct readers to authoritative sources rather than presenting ourselves as authorities.

    How sources are selected

We prioritise primary and official sources over secondary reporting. Preferred sources include GOV.UK, HMRC, the Financial Conduct Authority, the Bank of England, the Office for National Statistics, HM Treasury, and reputable financial reporting.

We prefer the most recent and directly relevant source available. Where figures or rules change, we update our references and date the article so readers can judge how current the information is.

Where a source is itself uncertain, commercially motivated, or unverified, we label it as such or avoid relying on it for factual claims.

    How financial claims are checked

Specific financial claims — interest rates, tax thresholds, allowances, product terms, dates and policy changes — are checked against an authoritative source before publication, and the source is dated.

Where a claim cannot be verified, we either remove it, qualify it clearly, or state that we have been unable to confirm it. We do not present unverified figures as certain.

We separate confirmed facts from forecasts and from our own commentary. Forecasts are attributed to the body making them, and our own analysis is identified as analysis.

Calculators and tools on the site are provided for general illustration only. Their outputs are estimates based on the inputs you provide and the assumptions stated, not guarantees of future results.

    How updates are handled

Financial rules, rates and product terms change frequently. When official guidance changes materially, we aim to update the affected article or add a note flagging that it may be out of date.

Each article carries a publication date. Where an article has been materially updated, we record the update so readers can see how current the content is.

Routine maintenance — fixing typos or minor wording — does not change the meaning of an article and is not treated as a material update.

    How corrections are made

If we become aware that a published article contains a material error of fact, we correct it promptly. Material corrections are noted on the article with the date of the correction and a short explanation of what changed.

Non-material changes (such as clarifications or typo fixes) may be made without a correction note.

If you believe something we have published is incorrect, please tell us via the Contact page. We review every report we receive.
